Hello, I arrived at Souda port in Crete island in Greece.
Today, let me talk about exhaust gas from cruise ship.
Fuel is main power of cruise.
Without fuel, the ship can’t move.
And cruise ship has to use fuel at anchor.
Why? Because the source of electricity is also fuel.
If the engine is stopped, we can’t use electricity.
I feel so sorry to planet when the ship at anchor exhausting gas.
As I see this situation, I feel “We earn money by using resource of earth”.
Although I work on cruise ship, I feel this kind of feeling.
What a wasteful to our earth.
The passenger of cruise ship around the world is increasing.
Large cruise ship companies continue to build cruise ships.
They tend to build large cruise ship more than ever.
Big ship needs more fuel than small one.
That is we need to use more resource from earth.
Is it sustainable for earth?
I don’t think so. If we continue this kinds of life style, earth will be collapsed.
So what can we do?
The answer is to change our mind.
We need to change our consumption of products and how to use services the companies provide.
Business is supported by customers.
If customers don't buy the service and product, the bussines can't exist.
Of course, I like cruise ship.
But cruise ship is so wasteful of fuel.
It's time to rethink our consumption.
Otherwise we can live in the earth.
