Vol.134:Make decision

Good morning. I arrived in Milos island in Greece.

We will stay until 2pm, we will go to Syros island in Greece.

I can go to Milos island 2 times including today in this season.

Today let me talk about myself.

Recently I’m thinking about coming back to Japan.

Because I really want to go back to Japan.

I have some reason.

First point is skin.

Second point is mental condition.

So now I’m thinking “how can I quit the company?”

If I quit company, I have to pay flight ticket.

Of course, my biggest point is this point.

Recently I can’t be proactive. I have piled up easy mistake which I can’t imagine before.

So I supposed to be crazy.

I don’t know.

Anyway, I’ll make decision.

Vol.133:Copy machine is similar to Japanese people

Hi, today is 2 port of call day.

We arrived at Cesme port in Turkey in the morning.

And then we arrived Mykonos island in Greece in the evening.

Few days ago, I suddenly come up with some idea.

That is “Copy machine is similar to Japanese.”

Because copy machine works precisely and quickly.

And as you know, Japanese tend to be methodical.

So I seem the movement Japanese people.

I have seen many Japanese products in Greece.

Not only copy machine, but also cars, stationary, air conditioner etc.

Of course, our predecessors had strived.

That’s why Japanese product expands around the world.

Furthermore, I think Japanese character  have an influence on these products.

I admit this discover was interesting.

Vol.132:Feel incongruous with my body

Good morning. We arrived at Souda port in Crete island in Greece.

We will stay until 7pm today.

Let me talk about try to feel.

Now I’m writing blog in English & Japanese and I write diary before sleep.

Few days ago, I would finish my job later than usual day.

So I wrote diary before finishing the job.

Strangely, I couldn’t concentrate.

And in general I finish blog in 30 to 40 minute.

But I took more 10 to 15 minute in this day.

At this moment, I didn’t feel lazy, sleepy.

But I feel incongruous with my body.

I didn’t understand at this day.

But I suppose to be the power of habits.

Because I wrote it different time, my body felt incongruous with my body.

Through this occurrence, It’s good for me to feel this kind of incongruous each moment.

Because I can find my tendency.

And if I could notice my tendency, I can make use of my tendency to next action.

It is one of the “find in myself”.

So when I feel my incongruous, I try to have consideration.

Vol.131:Mr.Hikakin

Good morning. Today is 2 port of call day.

 I arrived in Ios island in Greece in the morning.

And then We will leave Ios around 2pm, we will go to Santorini island in Greece.

We will stay in Santorini island until 11pm.

Let me talk about Mr. Hikakin.

Hikakin is one of the most popular, famous Youtuber in Japan.

Few days ago, I read web article about him.

The article is about his life style.

According to this article, his lifestyle seems to be so hard.

Because he mainly eat food from convenience store, and he works almost everyday.

He seems to upload his video almost everyday.

One of the reason to upload everyday is “other You tubers post everyday.”.

He said.

So he doesn’t take good rest as well.

Through these article, I notice it has possibility habit changes an obsession.

I also sometimes feel an obsession to write blog.

So I need to be careful to write blog.

To avoid this situation, I think it’s important to take a rest and to talk to myself “why do I write blog?”

Anyway, I hope he will not be bad health condition.

Vol.130:Look back at blog

Hi, we arrived at Cesme port in Turkey.

We left in the afternoon and we’re sailing now to Mykonos island in Greece.

Today let me talk about my blog.

Few days ago, I read blog since I came to Greece.

As I enjoyed reading, I feel many emotion.

For example, “I thought like this””I was stupid about it””This viewpoint is so good”etc.

I could feel growth.

Good point of blog is to compare past myself and present myself.

Even though I don’t feel big change with myself, I can feel change.

I felt my quality of life is improving.

So it’s worth to continue blog.

Vol.129:Customer service about Amazon.com&.uk

Good morning.

We arrived at Piraeus port in Greece.

Today I’m afford to go out.

So let me go to Athens.

Today let me talk about Amazon.

Few days ago, I applied Amazon video to watch movie for 1 month free trial(Amazon.com&Amazon.uk).

But I couldn’t watch almost movie.

I don’t understand the reason, I asked to customer service.

They replied “It’s impossible to watch movie in Greece. It’s only possible to watch movie made by Amazon.”

So I give up to apply Amazon video.

And I asked to cancel free trial to them.

They canceled my contract so quickly.

I asked to customer service by chat.

Surprisingly, they replied my message in 2 minutes.

And our chat was finished in 10 minutes.

Of course my question is disappeared.

I understand why Amazon has been top of online shopping service.

It’s not only selling service but also high quality after service.

I feel so sorry I couldn’t watch movie.

But the good service made me happy.

Probably this is the reason we would think “we want to use Amazon.”

Thorough this occurrence, I try to be careful about my behavior.

Because everyday our behavior is so important to our trust.

Vol.128:"Don't think, feel" in conversation

Good morning. We arrived in Milos island in Greece in the morning.

After 2pm, we will leave and the we will go to Syros island in Greece.

Arrival time is 7pm  according to schedule.

Today let me talk about English conversation.

Recently, I feel tired to conversation in English.

I considered the reason.

I came up with some reasons.

First one is too much thinking in conversation.

It means I tried too much “How to talk with them?”and”How can I reply?”etc.

That’s why I felt tired.

So today let me talk with someone without too much considering.

If I borrow the word, this is “Don’t think,  feel” by Bruce Lee.

It’s bad for too much consideration in everything.

Vol.127:Good point, bad point

Hi, we arrived at Cesme port in Turkey in this morning.  And we will arrive in Mykonos island in Greece.

Now we are in Turkish passenger operation.

It means 90% of passenger is Turkish.

This operation continues until August.

Today let me talk about "good point, bad point”.

As I live in cruise ship, I feel a lot of things.

For example, I find good point and bad point in Japanese.

And vice versa in other countries.

Through these kind of thinking, I really feel “there are no right-wing or left-wing”

Because I think “Good thing is good, bad thing is bad.”.

Having bias leads bad world.

So what can I do by myself?

One of my answer is to be objective viewpoint.

But of course, we should have our own opinions.

Each own opinions and objective viewpoint leads us better world.

Metal bat:Vol.126

Good morning.

We arrived in Rhodes island in Greece.

It’s been 1 month since I last came in this island.

I will go to bio shop after writing.

Today let me talk about metal bat.

Yesterday, I read one of article. The title is “Why Japanese high school baseball player uses metal bat?”

I really sympathize with this article.

In Japan, High school baseball player uses metal bat.

I also played high school baseball. But I didn’t have question about it.

i really sympathized this part below.

“If you use wooden bat, we can feel precise feeling each balls. Only this feeling teach you essential batting. In contrast, if you use metal bat, we can feel batting feeling less than wooden one. And you tend to see only result.”

I 100% agree with this words.

This problem connects why Japanese batter tend to fail in MLB.

Above words explain this question.

Through this article. Tool is so important. Of course, not only sports.

I also feel I should try to have a question to accepted ways.

Vol.125:Training player is business

Good morning.

We arrived at Souda port in Crete island in Greece.

It’s been 1 month since we last came Crete island.

Crete is one of my favorite place in Greece.

So I look forward to visit shops.

Today let me talk about soccer.

I take a mail magazine from Japanese soccer player, Keisuke Honda.

I’m impressed with the word from sports director of Pachuca,his belonging team.

The word is “Training player is business.”

Pachuca prioritize training.

They have own university from the generation of junior high school to graduate.

Recently one of player was traded to Dutch big club with expensive transfer fee.

It means Pachuca gets huge money.

I think it is good way to earn money with main income.

Furthermore, training player makes team more strong.

The director said “our team continues to prioritize training player.”.

In contrast, how about Japanese baseball team especially Yomiuri Giants?

They think only “how to get good player from other team with big money"

They can learn a lot of things from Pachuca…

And then they can save much money.

Japanese pro baseball team doesn’t have training organization under generation.

I hope someday they will build this kind of organization.

Vol.124:Trust is more important than language skill

Good morning. we arrived in Ios island in Greece.
We will leave Ios island in this afternoon, and we’re going to Santorini island in Greece.


Today let me talk about trust.
Recently I really feel the importance of trust.
Why?
Because if we don’t have trust, we can't be allowed to do everything.

So we need to get trust from people.


Recently I feel I gradually get trust from my colleague.
Because they assigned me more job, they talk to me more than before.

Before that, It was opposite.

Through this experience, I recognize the importance of trust.


Trust is more important than language skill.

Getting trust is one of my principle.
The principle is true everywhere.
Even in other countries.

Vol.123:Today's schedule

Good evening.

We have two port of call today.

We arrived at Cesme port in Turkey in the morning and stayed until after noon.

And we arrived in Mykonos island in Greece.

We have go to Cesme twice a week in this month.

To be honest, my brain doesn’t work today.

So let me just write today’s schedule.

In the morning. We said good bye to final disembarkation guest.

And then we had embarkation duty.

We have about 600 new embarking guest today.

So we were so busy.

Our Cesme was like this.

During sailing time, we have some activities for passengers.

After arriving in Mykonos, we have support disembarking.

Generally when we arrive in Mykonos, we stay along shore.

But today we can’t stay along shore.

Because other cruise ship already stay along shore.

So we go to shore by tender boat.

Today was busy day.

So I try to take good rest.

Vol.122:How are you? with many language

Good morning. We arrived at Piraeus port in Greece.
We will stay whole days.

So I’m afford to go out.
After writing this blog, I will go out.

Piraeus is one of my favorite town.
Because when I arrived in Greece in April, I stayed for 1 week at the beginning.
I stayed to get certificate in training center.
That’s why I have many memories.

And after I got certificate, I didn’t have opportunity to go out in Piraeus town.
So finally I can make my heart’s desire.


Today, let me talk about casual topic.

There are about 40 nationalities in our crew.
It means there are each greetings(How are you?→Good!) as well.

Let me show example below.
Japanese：Genki desuka?→Genki desu!
Spanish：Como estas?→Bien
Greek：Tee Kah-nees?→Ka-lah
etc.


Recently I try to use each greetings to our colleague.
For example I meet colleague who speaks Spanish,I use “Como estas?”
What happen after that? The colleague looks happier than if I use “How are you?”
Because their mother tongue is Spanish.

Some of them ask me “How to say it in Japanese?” after these greetings.
I would answer “Genki desuka?”

Interestingly, the after day they ask me “Genki desuka?”
Needless to say, I would be happy.

Through these greetings, each of us can build better relationships.


I do it just to enjoy, but it makes good effects as well.
I will try these kind of greetings with my creative mind.

Vol.121:How to use tip

Good morning. We arrived in Milos island in Greece.
After that, we’ll go to Syros island in Greece.
We’ll arrive about 8pm in Syros.

So we have two port of call today.


Let me talk about tip.
Recently, I understand how to use tip.

According to Japanese dictionary, tip means “a sum of money given to someone as a reward for a service”.

Especially in Great Britain and the united states, the habit is more common.

I didn’t get used to tip.
My first time to get tip was at Cesme port in Turkey.
I just helped to carry one of passenger’s luggage.
But i received 5€ as a tip.

After that I gradually realize what is tip.


Let me tell an example in my case.

When I go to cafe to use Wi-Fi, I usually just order water.
I sometimes stay long time even I just order water.

In this case, I feel so sorry to the cafe.
I feel unfair about it as well.

If I do it like this, I try to pay extra money as a tip.
This is to express appreciation.

In short, I think “Tip is my honest feeling.”.

If I really want to feel to give tip, It makes my feeling good.
Also the other person who receives money feels good.

I think tip is win-win relationship.

After coming back to Japan, I want to make use of chip willingly.

Vol.120:International comprehension

Hi, today we arrived at Cesme port in Turkey in the morning.
We left Cesme for Mykonos island in Greece in the noon.
We arrived at Mykonos port in Greece in the evening.
We will stay at Mykonos port until 3am.

From today, we starts "Turkish cruise".
What is Turkish cruise?
It means almost passengers are Turkish.
And about 10% of passengers are Iranian.
It’s fresh feeling for us.


Today let me talk about International comprehension inspired from Iran.

Iran is in the middle east.
I supposed all of middle east countries to use Arabic, but my thinking is wrong.
Because Iranian uses Persian.
I didn’t know the fact.


Recently, I feel that we need minimum international comprehension.
“Minimum” includes their mother language and religion.

I think there are 3 good ways to realize  other countries.
These are searching, conversation, going to the country really.

Searching is the easiest way in them.

Talking is more difficult than searching.
Because it’s difficult to find the people they lived or been there depends on the country.
But more effective than searching.

Going is the most difficult way in these 3 ways.
But most effective way as well.
Because it’s possible to talk, and search in the real.
We can feel real atmosphere.

So “real” is very important.
Even in technical developed period.

So I usually want to take care of real.

Vol.119:Write their name in Kanji(Chinese characters)

Good morning.

I arrived in Lavrion in Greece.

All of passengers were disembark tomorrow.

Because from tomorrow, we will change itinerary.

Almost passengers will be Turkish.

It continues only in August.

I look forward to this month.

Today, let me talk about Kanji.

Kanji is  called Chinese character in English.

I’m  sometimes asked to write one’s name from someones.

Then I write their name in Kanji, they look so happy.

Today let me tell you points if I write their names in Kanji.

①Name their name like naming my child.

②Try to fit their name with their image.

③Make use of conversion function from cellphone.

④Use identifiable word whether men or women.

⑤Avoid to use bad word.

These are so important points.

If you name someones word in Kanji.

It’s better to try with these points.

But don’t forget most important point is sincere.

Vol.118:You can choose your reaction

Good morning.

We arrived in Ios island in Greece in the morning.

And we will go to Santorini island in Greece in the afternoon.

Today let me talk about good word.

Yesterday I talked with one of my colleague.

She was checking Facebook, and then she talked to me to check one of the comment.

It described like this. “If you want to be happy, you can be happy. If you want to be sad, you can be sad. You can choose your life. It’s up to you.”

It reminded me one sentence from 7 habits.

The sentence is “He could decide within himself how all of this was going to affect him.”

This is from Viktor Emil Frankl(Austrian physicshiatrist). 

It means “Whenever you can choose your reaction.”

I noticed that I can use this word in my daily life.

For example in job.

I can’t describe in detail, I’m afraid of my manager.

But if I make use of the sentence, “I don’t need to be afraid of him.”

If I talk to my manager with a fear, what’s gonna happen?

When I met him, I try to avoid him. When I talk to him, I talk to him with strange atmosphere.

It’s gonna be wasteful time.

In contrast, if I talk to my manager with respectful mind, what’s gonna happen?

When I talk met him, I can say “hello!” with big voice. When I talk to him, I can enjoy talking.

It’s gonna be great time for each other.

So I decided to have respectful mind to him.

Let me consider around our daily life.

It has been usual like this situation.

For example, I hate one person more than necessity.

It’s also wasteful.

So let me try to be conscious of this word.

My life is only one time. Life is short more than our imagine.

It’s better to live better.

Vol.117:Cut my hair in Turkey

Good morning. We arrived in Kos island in Greece

We will stay till 8 o’clock in the evening.

And then we’ll go to Ios island in Greece.

Yesterday I had a haircut in Cesme.

It’s first time to have a haircut in outside.

Last week I found good barber, so I chose this.

I requested soft mohican.

In conclusion, it was so good barber.

Because the staff is so careful with his work.

He tried to follow my request precisely.

I was impressed to his work.

To be honest, it’s little bit strange hairstyle.

Because I guess soft mohican is unusual hairstyle in Turkey.

So probably he doesn’t get used to this kind of hairstyle.

But just little bit strange.

It doesn’t matter for me.

I also piled up good experience.

Next time I will try another hair style.

Vol.116:We can't shipping Kindle to Greece

Good morning. Today we arrived at Cesme port in Turkey.

We will stay until night time.

At last, August has come.

I wonder how about Japanese summer.

I suppose it’s so damp.

In contrast, Aegean summer is so comfortable.

The temperature is same as Japan.

But humidity is so low. It means dry.

That’s why Aegean summer is so comfortable.

Today let me talk about Kindle.

As you know, Kindle is produced by Amazon.

The most famous electronic book device.

I’m trying to buy Kindle now.

Why? Because I want to make use of Kindle Unlimited and I want to read Tsuyoshi Takashiro’s book.

I accessed Amazon.com to buy Kindle.

But it describes “We can’t ship to Greece.”.

So I asked customer center by e-mail, but it was same answer.

The person in charge suggested “you can buy Kindle in Amazon.uk.”.

So I accessed Amazon.uk.

But  I saw same sentence,“We can’t ship to Greece.”…

I asked customer center again.

But the per son in charge said “We can’t ship to Greece. But depends on product, we can ship to Greece.”.

It means I can’t buy Kindle by Amazon.

What can I do?

I got good news.

There are some stores which deal in Kindle in Athens.

Fortunately, I have a chance to go to Greece next week.

So I will try to buy it.

I hope I will get Kindle in this month.

Vol.115:Thank you rental bicycle shop

Hi, we arrived in Pireaus in Greece in the morning.

And then we left in the afternoon, we arrived in Syros island in Greece.

We’ll stay until this midnight.

Today let me talk about occurrence from tomorrow.

Yesterday we were in Milos island in Greece.

Fortunately i have long to time to go out, I would try to go Paleochori beach.

This beach is far from the port. It’s 10 km.

So I wanted to go by bus.

But there isn’t good time to use by bus.

So I decided to go by bicycle.

I knew already there is rental bicycle shop.

Because I rent bicycle last week and 2 weeks ago at the same shop.

I also went to same shop to rent bicycle.

I asked familiar staff, “I want to rent a same bicycle.”

And he said, “Don’t worry, come with me.”

I don’t understand what is “Don’t worry”.

And he said “You are so important customer for us. We want to take of important customer. So you can use it whatever."

Surprisingly, I can use it for free this day.

I told him appreciation, I left for Paleochori.

There are many up hill and down hill. So I took for an hour.

But as I heard beach was so good.

I enjoyed my relax time.

After coming back, shop manager said to me.

“You are very important customer. You are so kind. So you don’t need to pay. This is our present.”

I was glad to hear that.

I don’t have any idea about “kind"

But I came up with some occurrence last week.

Last week, I was asked “Please write my name by kanji” from one of staff.

And I wrote her name by kanji.

Maybe he said about it.

Anyway, i want to be not only good business man but also be good customer.

I thought it through yesterday’s occurrence.
