Vol.62:Ask again at the moment or not

Good morning. I arrived at Cesme port in Turkey.

In general, I don’t have a time to go out at Cesme.

But I have a free time for an 1hour today.

So I’ll let me go around the town later.

Today, let me talk about one situation in the work time.

I have a bad habit.

That is that I encounter not understandable expression during talking, I sometimes don’t ask the meaning of expression.

Of course, I ask when I can’t understand the core of sentence.

But I sometimes I don’t ask the meaning of not core.

It doesn’t make big problem.

But it means I lose opportunities to learn expressions.

Why I do sometimes?

Because I sometimes don’t have a courage to ask.

It means I’m not confident of my English.

When I encounter this situation, I come up with one of Japanese famous sentence.

This is “If you ask at the moment, it will be small shame. If you don’t ask at the moment, it will be life long shame."

The sentence fits my situation.

Whether I ask at the moment or not makes difference to learn expressions.

If it continues only for a day, it’s small difference.

But if it continues for a year, it makes large difference.

This is real slight edge.

It teaches me the importance of small habits.

If I encounter this situation, I promise you whenever I ask to them.
